  Choosing your hire car Top
  Before booking your hire car you might want to consider the following: -  
  How many people are travelling in the car - adults and children and their sizes?  
  - passenger symbols =and  
  - if you're on holiday, consider getting a car the next size up for extra comfort and space  
  or all the gear  
  What is the amount of luggage you need to carry - maximum and day-to-day?  
  - luggage symbols =and  
  Do you want air-conditioning? - in the Summer, on the continent - probably YES!  
  - air-conditioning symbol =  
  How much time will you spend in the vehicle? - 2 mile trips to the beach and back or, say,  
  70+ miles a day  
  What distances will you be covering? - for 70+ miles per day a larger car will be better  
  (midsize / intermediate)  
  Do you need / want automatic transmission? - great on long journeys

  Will you be taking a pet? - estate cars are available at most locations  
  Do you need extra space - eg. camping gear or holiday purchases?

  Remember that international hire companies cannot offer a particular range or model and you are selecting a size / style / quality of car

  Collecting your hire car Top
  When you collect your car you will usually need the following as a minimum - see the "Rental Qualifications & Requirements" section in Step 2 of the quotation process  
  Credit Card  
  - card must be in the name of the person booking and driving the car  
  - must be an acceptable card - see "Rental Qualifications & Requirements"  
  - sufficient credit on the card to pay for rental and extras  
  ID - (Passport for UK citizens)  
  Driving License (held for at least 1 year)  
     
  What is included in the Rental ? Top
  With Hertz bookings, the prepaid price usually includes (Check at the time of booking):-  
  Current model-year cars  
  Unlimited mileage  
  Registration/road tax  
  Local taxes and VAT  
  One insured driver  
  24 Hour roadside assistance  
  Third Party Insurance  
  Theft Protection (TP)  
  Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)  
  Airport location service charge  
     
  Other Things to Consider Top
  All the following will require confirmation at the time of booking. Details can obtained from the "Rental Qualifications & Requirements" section in Step 2 of the quotation process  
  The car usually comes with a full tank of fuel (and must be returned with a full tank of fuel)  
  Additional drivers are charged at a daily rate  
  Usually the minimum age for drivers is 25 (23 for certain classifications and with a surcharge)  
  An Excess may apply in the case of theft or damage to the hire vehicle even with TP or CDW  
  Super Cover provides additional insurance protection and is available as an Optional Extra at  
  time of collection  
  Check with your Travel Insurance or your Credit Card Supplier (the Card used to pay for the  
  car hire rental) regarding your cover for the Excess above  
  Personal Insurance for Injury, Medical Expenses, Theft etc is available as an Optional Extra  
  at time of collection  
  Facilities for disabled customers are available
